Back in the day poker networks dominated the online poker industry. A lot has changed in the last five years. The big independent poker rooms like Full Tilt Poker ( www.FullTiltPoker.com ) and the biggest poker room of all Poker Stars have taken their place on top but poker networks still account for a substantial amount of the industry. A poker network is a collection of poker rooms that use the same software and share players with each other. This was a good strategy years ago when online poker was just starting out but it is a dying business model in 2010. Online poker networks are not growing even though there are literally thousands of "skins" out there and that number grows daily. I recently conducted a study of the Merge Gaming network and found that on average there are roughly 10 real money players/skin at the tables at any given time. They would need 30,000 skins to come close to matching the traffic at Pokerstars.Luckily there are people like me that have nothing better to do than keep an eye on these skins/networks and sort the good from the bad for you. I do not promote poker rooms that do not "pass the test". You can typically tell which poker rooms on a network are going to provide a positive playing experience just by looking at their web site. If you are interested in playing at a room not listed on this web site I strongly suggest that you do a little research before you sign up. I am only listing the top room for each poker network. Some networks have several solid rooms though so in each network review I list the best room and if there are other good ones I try to provide links to web sites that have more detailed information on them.

There are other networks out there but the traffic at the real money poker site tables is less than 100 players so they are not worth mentioning.
